Adam, I also read the letters mentioning Dr. Ring and Dr. Moore. It is interesting that the overseer CL didn't bring them that often. I wonder why (the cost, the overwhelming number that were ill)? Neat topic!!

My guess is Anthony is the one in the fight, but not sure either. It s strange that CL handcuffed them over the fight though. He didn't admit anyway to being very strict. He said in one letter that he didn't whip Mlton when he got back, but did late…

12/7/1844 letter from P. Cameron to Duncan Cameron describes Lewellyn, claiming he was an overseer on a plantation in VA. Hope this helps :)
